One of the major innovators of the blues guitar died last night at age 91. Robert not only helped create the Chicago sound but at the same time developed a style of playing that was integral in accentuating the blues harp as a lead instrument by weaving in and out with somewhat jazz like guitar progressions. Robert has a long list of accomplishments, besides making the great harp players of Chicago like both "Sonny Boys" and both "Walters" sound their best he also claims to be a mentor to BB King. Robert's style also allowed him to record many duets with the various Chicago piano greats of the time.
